Residents Of Kapsimatia West Pokot Are Complaining Of Water Shortage

Residents of Kapsimatia area, Chepareria ward,West Pokot County have complained about water shortage which they have mentioned as the main challenge they are experiencing at the moment.

Led by the local youth leader Emmanuel Loyara, the residents said that they have been facing the problem for more than fifteen years despite the installation of water pipes which was however abandoned.

They said that most of the mothers have been seriously affected after having to walk for long distances in search of water.

“We have a water problem here in Kasimatia that we have faced for many years, many mothers have been greatly affected by having to go far to find water,” said Emmanuel Loyara.

The residents are now calling on the county leaders to visit the area and witness the challenges they are facing, and then take action including drilling boreholes as one way to solve the long-term problem.

“We are asking our leaders to visit this area and see how the people are struggling, it is our request that they dig boreholes for us to get relief from this problem,” he said.
