Moroto Expresses Concerns Over State of Schools in West Pokot County

Kapenguria Member of Parliament Samwel Moroto has called on leaders in West Pokot County to work together in addressing the education sector, in relation to infrastructure.
Speaking at the Holy Trinity Serewo girls’ school while inspecting the state of classes in the school,Moroto said that the state of many schools in the county is not promising.
While making his remarks he noted that the classrooms that have wall cracks in the school will be demolished to build other classrooms, while the students will be transferred to other classrooms for their safety.
“There are several classes in this school that have shown cracks and they need urgent attention. We are in the process of demolishing those classes so as to build new ones,” said Mr. Moroto.
On the other hand, Moroto praised the school’s for the improved performance in exams compared to recent years.
He further promised full support to the school in order to provide a good environment for learners.
“I promise my full support to this school so as to provide a good environment for learners to continue performing well as seen in last year’s exams,” he said.
The school’s management led by the Principal Gladys Andiema praised the cooperation they are receiving from MP’s office, terming it as of a great benefit to the school and students in general.
“We thank the MP’s office for the good cooperation. It is of great benefit to us,” said Mrs. Andiema.
