West Pokot County Deputy Governor Robert Komole, has called on political leaders to shun politics of the 2027 general election and focus on service to the residents to improve their lives.

Speaking at an event in Makutano, Komole condemned the leaders who have started to form political factions towards the next general election.

He said the current governor Simon Kachapin is still in power and should be given time to serve the people.

Mr. Komole said that leaders in other areas of the country are working together to better the lives of their people, but it is sad that the leaders of West Pokot County are spending most of their time engaging in divisive politics.

“It is sad that leaders in our county are already engaging in the next general elections when they should be busy working to better the lives of our people,” said Mr. Komole.

At the same time, Komole condemned the leaders from the County for boycotting important events organized to highlight the interests of the residents, while at the same time attending events organized in other parts of the country.

“When we organize important meetings to highlight the interests of our people, we do not see these leaders but it is surprising that when such events are organized in other counties, they cannot fail to attend,” he said.
