The nominated ward representative in the West Pokot county parliament, Elisha Kaseuseu, has criticized some leaders in the county for what he claimed to have collaborated with the opponents of Governor Simon Kachapin with the aim of undermining his performance.

Speaking at a function in Makutano stadium on Monday, Kaseuseu claimed there are some leaders who are working with the former governor to ensure that the current government does not deliver its mandate.

“There are some leaders in this county who are working with the former governor with the aim of undermining the performance of governor Kachapin,” said Mr. Kaseuseu.

In addition he said that it is the responsibility of every leader in the county to cooperate with the current governor, in ensuring that he fulfills his promises to the residents, and to ensure that the lives of the people are enhanced.

“Instead of fighting the governor, leaders should work with him to ensure that he fulfills the promises he made to the residents and improve their lives,” he said.

At the same time, Kaseuseu criticized the move of some leaders from the opposition parties to join the UDA party after it took over the national leadership.

He appealed to President William Ruto to ensure that the leaders who helped him triumph the presidential race, especially from West Pokot county, are given priority in government slots before making room for leaders who joined the party from the opposition.

“There are leaders from the opposition who have infiltrated the government. I am asking the president to give jobs to those who helped him take over the leadership, before extending the olive hand to those who joined the party from the opposition,” he added.
