West Pokot Leaders Demands to Ruto Ahead of Sebit Factory Launch

The cement factory located in Sebit in West Pokot county will be officially launched on Monday 8th in an event that will be presided over by President William Ruto.

Meanwhile, according to the Cement factory chairman Narendra Ravaal has stated that Ruto is expected to inaugurate the factory which is expected to create more than two thousand jobs for West Pokot county residents.

Similarly, the factory has been welcomed hugely by leaders in the county with most of them having a common voice.

Meawhile, leaders of the county led by the Batei ward representative Yusuf Long’iro welcomed the coming of the factory which they said will be of great benefit in the West Pokot county including improving commercial activities.

“We are very happy because the arrival of this factory which apart from bringing great benefits to this county of West Pokot including improving commercial activities, the residents of this county will get employment opportunities,” said Long’iro.

Likewise, ahead of the launch by the President, the leaders are calling on Ruto to help the residents have an easy flow of water in the region.

“This area has a big challenge of lack of water, so we are asking the president when he comes, to make sure that we get water so that our people don’t have to worry about finding this important product,” said Long’iro.

In addition the area MCA Mr Long’iro also called on the President to take a look at the unemployed teachers in the region.

There are also teachers who are qualified and have not received the Jira. We ask the president to focus on this issue,” he said.

Notably, the Principal Secretary State Department for Mining in the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Elijah Mwangi on Thursday 4th inspected Sebit Cement factory ahead of opening.

The PS who was in company of West Pokot County and National Government officials addressed members of the fourth estate in West Pokot County while giving his reviews of the cement factory company.

While making his remarks, Mwangi noted that the cement factory in Sebit area of West Pokot County will greatly change the face of the county in the eyes of the world.
