The Roads, Transport and Construction County executive committee member (CEC) West Pokot county Joshua Siwanyang led the public participation forum on budget making in Mnagei ward for the 2024/2025 financial year.

Speaking after the exercise on Tuesday 20th which was held in the ELCK church hall Tartar, Siwanyang assured the residents that their opinions will be taken into account when preparing the budget.

He also said the county government will ensure that projects that were not implemented during the previous financial year will be given the first priority this financial year.

“Today’s exercise was successfull as Mnagei ward was well represented.  The county government will ensure that those projects that were not implemented in the last financial year are given the first priority this financial year,” said Mr. Siwanyang.

His statement was echoed by Mnagei ward MCA Richard Todosia and Kapenguria’s Richard Mastaluk who also asked those who were given the responsibility of making projects successful to observe transparency.

“I assure the residents that we will ensure that all projects that were budgeted for last financial year will be completed by June this year. We ask all the officials who have been given the responsibility of making these projects successful to observe transparency,” they said.

At the time Kapenguria area deputy county commissioner Ruth Wachira also asked the residents to cooperate with the county government in ensuring that the projects that have been allocated funds are successful.

“Residents should fully cooperate with the government in achieving development projects in local areas. We ask them to be the eyes of the government in the implementation of those projects,” said Wachera.
