Kapenguria Member of Parliament Samwel Moroto has expressed the need for county governments to cooperate with the members of parliament in implementing various projects for the benefit of the residents.

Speaking while commissioning four classrooms at Adurkoit Girls High School, in Riwo ward, Mr. Moroto said that a lot will be achieved through collaboration considering the small amount of funds being allocated to the county governments, as well as the NG-CDF fund.

The construction of classes was funded by the State Department of Education with support from the Transition Infrastructure Fund.

“We cannot work as individuals and expect to achieve positive results. As members of the National Assembly, we must cooperate with the county governments in implementing projects in rural areas,” said Mr. Moroto.

His statements were echoed by the former West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo who said that he achieved much in his tenure through cooperation with the members of Parliament.

He further urged the residents of West Pokot County to embrace education terming it the only way to achieve peace and harmony among the people.

“If we want to achieve peace and harmony among our people, we have to embrace education. This is the only equalizer,” said Mr. Lonyangapuo.
