Governor Kachapin Takes On Senator Murgor For Questioning His Performance
By Benson Aswani,
West Pokot County Governor Simon Kachapin has taken a jab at Senator Julius Murgor for what he termed a continuous attack on his performance.
Speaking to Kalya Digital Governor Kachapin called out Senator Murgor for his negative comments on his leadership saying the senator has failed in his duty of rallying for more resources for the county.
Governor Kachapin further claimed that Senator Murgor has been at the forefront of crippling devolution after he opposed the motion that was intended to increase the county allocation.
“The senator should stop criticizing my performance. He is on the record opposing the motion intended to increase the county allocation. He has no audacity to speak against my performance,” said Governor Kachapin.
In addition, the county boss said that the Senator has been avoiding crucial events that highlight the County’s development, instead, using different events to criticize the performance of his government, an issue he says goes against his duties as a senator.
“We have been having important events that highlight the development of this county. Instead of standing in solidarity with the county government, the senator has been busy using different events to criticize our efforts,” he said.
He called on all leaders in West Pokot County to work together in addressing the challenges facing residents including the issue of insecurity in the border areas, instead of throwing jabs at each other.
“We all have a mandate as leaders to better the lives of our people. Instead of throwing blame at each other, we should work together in addressing the challenges facing our people such as insecurity at the border areas,” he added.
