West Pokot Deputy Governor Robert Komole has called on the leaders to join hands with Governor Simon Kachapin, in improving education standards in the county.

Speaking at St. Bakhita secondary school after commissioning two classes and a dormitory, Mr. Komole called on the leaders to shun politics and concentrate on bettering the lives of their constituents.

Mr. Komole further lauded the school leadership for their transparency in using funds allocated to finance the construction of the classrooms.

“I thank the leadership of this school for their transparency in spending funds allocated for the construction of these classrooms. It is now our duty as leaders to shun politics and work together for the betterment of our community,” said Mr. Komole.

The county director of education, Simon Wamae, asked parents to be close to their children during this holiday season, and monitor their movements to ensure they return to school in good condition when schools open.

“Schools have closed and now our children are at home. I appeal to our parents to be close to these children and monitor their movements while at home. We want our children to come back to school in good condition when schools open,” Said Mr. Wamae.

On her side, the school Principal Grace Kakuko, thanked the parents for their contributions that facilitated the construction of the classrooms that host students who were using tents to conduct their classes.

“We called on our parents to help us construct classes for our students who were forced to undertake their studies in tents due to the lack of classes. Am grateful because they responded positively and helped us construct these classes,” said Mrs. Kakuko.
