Kachapin Should Vie for a Senate:Lotee,Pkosing Issues Demand

West Pokot county governor Simon Kachapin has lauded the move to be elected chairman of the UDA party in the county during the UDA grassroots elections that were held on Friday 26th April.

Speaking in Makutano, Kachapin praised the calmness that was witnessed in the election, using the opportunity to officially invite to the party members who joined the party from other parties.

“I am very grateful to the people of this West Pokot county for believing in me and appointing me as the chairman of the UDA party. Now, as the chairman, I officially welcome the guest members who joined us so that we can develop the party and make it strong,” said Kachapin.

At the same time, Kachapin called on the members who were vying for various positions in the election and failed, to cooperate with the elected leaders to ensure that the party is strengthened even more.

“To all those who participated in the party elections but were not able to be elected, I ask you not to leave the party but to cooperate and ensure that the party gains even more strength,” he said.

Leaders who supported Kachapin’s wing in the election led by South Pokot Member of Parliament David Pkosing and Kacheliba’s colleague Titus Lotee asked Kachapin to unite all members promoting him to become a senator after his term as governor is over.

“Now Kachapin as our chairman here in West Pokot, we ask him to unite all the members of the UDA and we assure him that in 2027 he will be the senator of this county,” said Pkosing.

The post of the chairman of the UDA party was also contested by the senator of the West Pokot county, Julius Murgor.
