While confirming the incident, Baringo county UDA whip Reuben Chepsongol, among other leaders from the county condemned the incident.
“The bandits invaded Yatya area, killed two children and managed to get away with unknown number of livestock. We condemn the incident and ask the government to expedite the process of wiping banditry in kerio valley,” said Mr. Chepsongol.
Speaking in Mogotio constituency on Sunday 25th February, the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Simon Chelugui and the head of public service Felix Koskei, gave assurance that the current government will eradicate the issue of insecurity in Kerio Valley.
“Am sure in the next one month, something serious will happen and will disorganize this banditry systems in our county. We are not going to condone bandits, cattle rustlers, people who want to disorganize the economic activities of other people,” they said.
